Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the classroom, ensuring compliance with all regulations, company standards, policies and procedures
- Provides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for children, parents & visitors
- Assist in maintaining attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and an educational parent board (update regularly)
- Assist in managing effective classroom transitions and conducting name to face counts every 30 minutes
- Attend all staff meetings, training and staff events as required
- Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the classroom/school and works with Lead Teacher and Director to resolve
- Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child’s development and classroom happenings
- Assist in completing all classroom paperwork
- Assist and supervise children during all activities; counsels’ children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques including Conscious Discipline
- Assist with implementing, age-appropriate lesson plans in a safe, nurturing learning environment in accordance with the Celebree School curriculum
- This position requires entry level knowledge and understanding of behavioral and developmental stages of children; beginning knowledge of State licensing regulations; ability to assist in the management of a classroom including strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills; patience, flexibility.
- Teaching: 1 year (Required or Preferred)
- Childcare: 1 year (Required or Preferred)
- Child Development Associate (Preferred)
- Associate’s degree in human services field or early childhood education (Preferred)
